A forum for curated topics that are timely and relevant to beginning or practicing journalists. I often view educating others about what journalism "is" can be just as important as any given story in itself. I hold and promote a traditional sense of what the discipline should strive to be and one maxim is constant – that is always a work in progress. It's easy to armchair quarterback (after the fact) about how stories should be done.

Reoccurring ideas are:
- Is it accurate? Is it credible? Is it objective? And these are to be followed by the ever-present – why or why not and how?

- Did the author/reporter include the primary sources? Followed by the usual – why or why not?

- Is this important? Does it impact people? Who cares? – why or why not and how?

Certainly there are many other criteria to include and these are meant to simply be a starting point and I look forward to honest and open discussion about them. I'm always open to other topics for discussion and reading. Feel free to share anytime!
